12 oz spaghetti or your choice of pasta

1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil

Zest and juice of 2 large lemons

1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1 cup fresh basil leaves, torn into bite-sized pieces

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for added heat)

1/4 cup pine nuts, toasted for extra crunch

Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a vigorous boil over high heat. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Once cooked, drain the pasta and rinse it under cold running water to halt the cooking process. Set the pasta aside to cool completely.
