3 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes, with excess liquid drained

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus additional for serving

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped (plus extra for garnish)

Freshly cracked black pepper, for garnish

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Remember to save about 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining the pasta. Set the drained pasta aside.
