Ingredients

2 ripe bananas

1 cup rolled oats

1 cup plain Greek yogurt (or non-dairy yogurt of choice)

¼ cup honey or maple syrup (choose maple syrup for a vegan option)

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

¼ cup dark chocolate chips (or dairy-free chocolate chips)

¼ cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts or almonds, or a mix)

A pinch of salt

Fresh banana slices and cocoa nibs for optional topping

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: Begin by peeling the ripe bananas and placing them into a mixing bowl. Use a fork to mash the bananas thoroughly until they reach a smooth consistency.

Combine the Base Ingredients: Add the rolled oats, Greek yogurt, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the mashed bananas. Mix all the ingredients together until they are completely combined and the mixture is homogeneous.

Incorporate Additional Ingredients: Gently fold in the dark chocolate chips and the chopped nuts into the banana-oat mixture. Ensure that the chocolate and nuts are evenly distributed throughout to enhance every bite.

Prepare the Baking Pan: Line an 8x8 inch (or comparable size) baking dish with parchment paper, allowing some overhang on the sides. This will facilitate easy lifting and removal of the slices after freezing.

Spread the Mixture: Pour the prepared mixture into the lined baking dish. Use a spatula to spread it out evenly across the pan. Press down firmly to form a compact layer.

Freeze: Transfer the dish to the freezer and allow it to freeze for a minimum of 4 hours, or until the mixture is completely solid.

Slice and Serve: Once frozen, carefully lift the mixture out of the dish using the overhanging parchment paper. Place it on a cutting board and slice into squares or rectangles, depending on your preferred size.

Garnish for Extra Flavor (Optional): For added visual appeal and flavor, top each slice with fresh banana slices and a light sprinkling of cocoa nibs.

Enjoy: Serve your delightful frozen slices immediately as a refreshing treat, or store any extras in an airtight container in the freezer for a quick, healthy snack down the line.
