Ingredients

2 ripe bananas

1 cup plain Greek yogurt

1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 cup honey or maple syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Sliced almonds or walnuts for topping (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Base: Begin by peeling the ripe bananas and placing them in a blender or food processor. Add the plain Greek yogurt, cooled brewed coffee, unsweetened cocoa powder, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and sea salt. Blend the mixture on high until it becomes smooth and creamy, ensuring there are no lumps from the bananas.

Incorporate Chocolate: If you prefer a chocolatey surprise in each bite, add the chocolate chips to the blended mixture. Use a spatula to gently fold them in so they are evenly distributed without fully blending them away.

Prepare the Pan: Take an 8x8-inch square baking dish and line it with parchment paper, allowing some overhang on the sides. This will help you lift the frozen yogurt out easily later on.

Pour and Spread: Carefully pour the creamy banana-yogurt blend into the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula to spread it evenly throughout the dish for a uniform thickness.

Freeze: Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap or aluminum foil to prevent ice crystals from forming. Place the dish in the freezer and allow it to freeze until solid, which will take approximately 4-6 hours, but for the best texture, freeze overnight.

Cut into Squares: Once the mixture is completely frozen, remove the dish from the freezer. Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the frozen block out of the dish. Place it on a cutting board and cut into squares of your preferred size.

Serve: Before serving, consider sprinkling some sliced almonds or walnuts on top to add a delightful crunch and enhance the flavor. Enjoy immediately or store the squares in an airtight container in the freezer, where they will keep well for up to a month.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 6 hours (includes freezing) | Servings: 16 squares

                  - Serving Suggestion: For an extra touch, drizzle a little more honey or maple syrup over the squares right before serving to elevate the sweetness and presentation.
