Ingredients

4 tilapia fillets (approximately 6 ounces each)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon paprika (optional, for enhanced color)

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prep the Tilapia: Begin by rinsing the tilapia fillets under cold water to remove any residue. Pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels. Season each fillet generously on both sides with salt, black pepper, and paprika (if using) to ensure every bite is flavorful.

Melt the Butter: In a large skillet, heat the unsalted butter over medium heat. Allow it to melt completely, and once melted, add the minced garlic. Sauté the garlic for about 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently, until it becomes fragrant but avoid letting it turn brown, as this can give a bitter taste.

Cook the Tilapia: Gently place the seasoned tilapia fillets into the skillet with the garlic butter. Cook the fillets for approximately 3-4 minutes on each side. You'll know they are done when the fish turns opaque and flakes easily when tested with a fork. If you notice any browning on the bottom of the skillet, reduce the heat slightly to prevent burning.

Add Lemon Juice: Once the tilapia is fully cooked, drizzle fresh lemon juice over the top of the fillets for a bright, zesty flavor. Use a spoon to carefully spoon some of the garlic butter sauce over the fish for extra richness.

Garnish and Serve: Immediately remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the finely chopped parsley over the fish fillets for a pop of color and freshness. Serve the tilapia hot, accompanied by lemon wedges on the side, allowing guests to add more citrus if they desire.
