Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1 cup fresh green chilies, diced (or canned, drained)

½ cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)

¼ cup green onions, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp smoked paprika

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper

1 egg, lightly beaten

Olive oil (for greasing)

Slider buns (8-10 small)

Sliced avocado (optional for topping)

Fresh cilantro sprigs (for garnish)

Spicy mayo or your favorite sauce for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey with the diced green chilies, panko breadcrumbs, chopped green onions, minced garlic, ground cumin, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and the beaten egg. Using your hands or a spoon, mix until just combined; take care not to overmix, as this can make the burger patties tough.

Form the Patties: Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each into slider-sized patties, roughly 2-3 inches in diameter. You should yield about 8-10 patties in total. To prevent puffing, create a slight indentation in the center of each patty.

Cook the Sliders: Preheat a large skillet or grill over medium heat. Lightly grease the surface with olive oil. Once hot, place the patties in the skillet. Cook for approximately 5-6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the patties are golden brown and cooked through.

Prepare the Buns: While the patties are cooking, toast the slider buns. Place them cut side down on a skillet or grill over medium heat until they are lightly browned and crispy.

Assemble the Sliders: Once the patties and buns are ready, place each turkey patty on the bottom half of a toasted bun. If desired, add slices of creamy avocado on top. Finish with a generous dollop of spicy mayo or your favorite sauce, and then garnish with fresh cilantro sprigs. Cap off each slider with the top half of the bun.

Serve: Serve the sliders warm, accompanied by extra green chilies or a side of hot sauce for those who enjoy an extra kick!
