Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough

1 cup cooked chicken, shredded (rotisserie chicken is an excellent option)

1/2 cup marinara sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Olive oil spray or melted butter for brushing

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and allow it to fully preheat.

Prepare the Chicken Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken with the marinara sauce. Add half of the shredded mozzarella cheese, the grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix everything together until uniformly blended.

Roll Out the Dough: On a clean, flat surface, unroll the crescent roll dough. Carefully separate it into 4 rectangular pieces by pressing the perforated seams together to seal them.

Fill the Crescents: Spoon a generous portion of the chicken mixture into the center of each rectangle. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top of the filling.

Fold and Seal the Crescents: Fold each rectangle over to form a pocket, ensuring the filling is enclosed. Press the edges firmly to seal and, for added security, crimp the edges with a fork.

Bake the Crescents: Arrange the filled crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Lightly spray or brush the tops with olive oil or melted butter for a golden finish. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they turn a beautiful golden brown.

Cool and Serve: Once they’re baked, remove the crescent melts from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. If desired, garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving. Enjoy warm, paired with extra marinara sauce for dipping!
