Ingredients

1 lb sushi-grade tuna, diced into 1/2-inch cubes

1 ripe avocado, diced into bite-sized pieces

2 cups cooked sushi rice (preferably short-grain)

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon sriracha (or adjust based on your heat preference)

1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil

1 teaspoon fresh lime juice

1/4 cup green onions, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (white or black for contrast)

1/4 cup cucumber, finely diced (preferably seedless)

Fresh cilantro leaves, for garnish

Sea salt, to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Sushi Rice: Begin by rinsing the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch. Cook the rice according to the package instructions. Once cooked, allow it to cool for about 10 minutes. Fluff the rice gently with a fork and, if desired, mix in a splash of rice vinegar for an added depth of flavor.

Marinate the Tuna: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the diced tuna, soy sauce, sriracha, toasted sesame oil, fresh lime juice, and a pinch of sea salt. Gently fold the ingredients together until the tuna is evenly coated. Cover the bowl and let it rest in the refrigerator for approximately 15 minutes to allow the tuna to absorb the flavors.

Assemble the Bowls: Evenly distribute the cooked sushi rice into four serving bowls, creating a nice base. Layer each bowl with a generous portion of the marinated tuna, diced avocado, finely diced cucumber, and sliced green onions.

Garnish and Serve: To finish, sprinkle a few sesame seeds over each bowl for added texture and flavor. Add fresh cilantro leaves on top for a burst of color and freshness. Serve immediately while the tuna is chilled and the rice is warm, enjoying this delightful mix of flavors!
